As you may have noticed, I have recently made the decision to redesign this website. Below, I'm going to break down a few main questions surrounding it.
This redesign has been primarily focused on the visual elements of the website rather than the content. That is to say, I've changed the colour of some things, but the words are the same. My previous banner image has been replaced with a black banner with my logo on, and as such, all the background behind any text has changed. This is where the red and grey have come from - dulled down versions of my brand colours. This has been applied across all of my active websites.
I got bored.
I've been meaning to do something for a while, but I had some spare time today, so I did it. I wanted to enhance my brand image by making everything coherent, rather than having different colours for my logo and the theme of my website. I decided to change everything to match my logo, hence the grey and red theme, as I decided black and red was too vibrant for the whole site.
With this update, I have also removed all mailto links from all my websites, including the old and archived ones. This means that any time I have written an email address, it is in bold rather than being a link. I didn't want to have to make this descision, as it leads to a worse user experience, however I have been recieveing a large number of spam emails recently, and this is the only place they could've got my details from. Hopefully this won't affect actual people too much, as you can always copy & paste, or type it out again, but it should prevent any bots from getting my email address and spamming me.
